Who knew?

Virgina Postrel makes a point in her entry on Reagan's death that I think often gets missed. The money quote: "Whatever impressions nostalgic TV shows may leave with those too young to remember the real decade, the late 1960s and 1970s were a scary time to grow up. The world just kept getting worse and worse, and nobody seemed to know why." This is definitely not the impresson of the 60's and 70's that I, a child of the 80's and 90's, get at all.
